What is Ron Paul's jobs plan?

I have no doubt that he would cut lots of spending but I would expect more jobs loss than jobs creation.

To some degree I think this is a necessary evil of adopting a sustainable jobs model that is based on private sector employment instead of taxpayer based employment which requires ever increasing taxes to pay for more jobs and cost of living increases, etc.

Higher education needs to become standard education

I'm generally in favor of downsizing government but I feel that good education needs to be easily accessible to all citizens or else our country will deteriorate even faster.

In the past it was sufficient to fund K-12 but modern times have most of the worthwhile jobs requiring college degrees.

If we're serious about reducing unemployment then we need to redirect more money towards subsidizing higher education.  Doing this can also help reduce the number of foreigners that modern companies keep hiring from other countries because there are insufficient American workers  with the necessary skills.

Ron Paul's ideas are right on but can he succeed in implementing them?

I strongly agree that Ron Paul's ideas according to the following link are the right ideas to implement:

http://useconomy.about.com/od/people/p/Ron-Paul-2012.htm

However, I'm not convinced he can implement them.

1. Less govt and cut federal spending
Even if he wins the presidency, can he abolish the Fed?
2. Reduce military spending
I have full confidence he can achieve this if he becomes president :-)
3. End the welfare state
I agree this is the right thing to do but I fear he wouldn't be reelected to allow the benefits of cutting them to be seem before politicians bring it back.
Btw, while I'm for killing Medicaid and Social Security, I feel that it's unjust to cut it cold turkey. Current recipients may need to be grandfathered in. People within X years of becoming recipients may need some sort of allowance as well.
I'm fine with people my age (35) or less being cut off from it. Perhaps even 39 and less as that's our 50% of the population cutoff.
4. Cut taxes
Even if he was president, would he be able to cut taxes? Isn't that controlled by Lesiglative branch?
5. Return to the gold standard
I would LOVE this. However, there's a link in the article that discusses why this wouldn't be feasible unless the whole world adopts it at the same time. How likely is that?
6. Eliminate or audit the Fed
Already discussed above
7. Impact on the Economy
If Ron Paul was elected president and somehow implemented everything he wants to do on day 1 then it's most likely the case that the short term suffering caused may prevent him from being elected a second term which would likely cause the fruits of his work work to not be realized before the next president undoes his work.

Despite my concerns I still want to elect him in the hopes that some of his work sticks, but it's definitely a concern of mine that The People won't realize how right he is if he does get elected.

What do you think of Herman Cain's 999 Plan?

I like the simplicity but it certainly looks set up to hurt the lower income citizens.

I'm especially worried about the 30% Fair Tax though.

Let the blogging begin!

Due to popular demand, I will no longer be initiating political posts in Facebook.  I will instead use http://TimmiBui.blogger.com to make such posts then post a link to it on Facebook.

It will therefore be very easy to ignore my political banter.  Just don't ever click on my blog link.

If, on the other hand, you're interested in open discussions about how to improve the economy, the government, or anything political, please do subscribe to my blog and post as often as you like.
